Whole-Hearted Therapy for RVA’s Twentysomethings

You’re worthy and deserving of not just surviving—but healing, growing, and THRIVING.

Did you know that…

If you want to work on yourself,

your twenties is possibly the best time to start?

Well, it is, and here’s why . . .

First, our brain is still developing!

According to neuroscience, the human brain continues to develop in ways that are especially critical to the development of emotional regulation, stress management, and personality

through our mid- to late-twenties.

In fact, many neuroscientists refer to our twenties as “late adolescence” rather than adulthood because of this scientific fact.

So what?

Long story short, trauma and stressful life experiences—especially in childhood—physically and literally shape and change how our brain learns to handle stress.

Many of our mental health struggles stem from how those tough experiences shaped our brain’s ability cope.

But here’s the good news. . .

Your twenties is often a time of increased independence and freedom in life (after we’ve ‘left the nest’) and our brain is still developing. So the good news is that, if our brain has been shaped by challenging experiences that have led to unhealthy ways of coping, it’s not too late.

In fact, it’s actually a prime time to work on yourself because you are at an age when it is still possible to reshape the brain before it more fully matures.

To sum it all up. . .

You’re doing all the right things by being here and beginning to work on yourself.

And I’m here to help.
